Found this quote recently and remembered the awesome inspirational images and imagination of Dr. Seuss. Delight, surprise and genius wrapped up in a children's book. It's hard to estimate the influence his stellar imagination and whimsy had on my young mind. With some years of perspective between then and now, there is still plenty more to glean from this amazing author/artist.

For the first week of June 2014, I'd like to introduce one of contributing artists in the dvArt community, who takes time away from their busy life to take notice of the work posted here and contribute feedback.
Over the year I hope to include you all! [*see previous posts.] *And Now....Watcher of the Week: A short introduction to a watcher/friend picked at random.

This Weeks Selection hails from Germany and he's a traditional artist-hobbyist whose been a dvArt member for three years. He favors electronic and pop music, as you will note from some of the portraits posted on his dvArt page; and Sarah Kerrigan - Queen of Blades  is his top video game character. H.R. Geiger --who just has passed on to the next world and left us all an extraordinary legacy of art--is a primary creative influence. His artwork is completed in a variety of media ranging from acrylic paints to water-media and color pencils and naturally reflects personal taste in realistic portraiture, surrealism, and bio-mechanical forms. A gallery full of fan art also reveals his preference for the portrayal of pop-icons and an avid fascination for the female form. For a 17 year old artist, he has developed an impressive fundamental skill-set --an essential ingredient to incorporating new knowledge and techniques throughout one's artistic journey.

This Weeks Selection hails from the Cayman Islands and she's been a dvArt member for three years. She is a hobbyist-photographer with a gallery mostly comprised of nature subjects culled from the beauty surrounding her island home; although she considers herself merely an amateur, her work displays a developing eye for design and color that has matured much in the past year. The Vampire Diaries and The Lying Game are among her top TV shows and favorite books include The Morganville Vampire Series and The Other Boleyn Girl. She's listed as a member of 8 groups and a noteworthy contributor to AmazingArtWorks [founded 2 years ago.] Her passion for creative arts also reaches into writing, acting, film-making and dance. Perhaps she can be persuaded to share some of these artistic pursuits as well.
